For more than two decades, Hummingbird Wholesale has been passionate about bringing organic pumpkin seed production closer to home. Beginning in 2003, we partnered with Oregon farmers to trial hulless pumpkin varieties in the Willamette Valley, inspired by the rich pumpkin seed-growing traditions of Styria, Austria. After years of research, field trials, and collaboration with local growers, Oregon-grown pumpkin seeds became a reality and a beloved regional crop.

While the seeds thrived in Oregon's fertile soils, the specialized harvesting, cleaning, and processing infrastructure required for pumpkin seed production has become increasingly difficult to maintain locally. To ensure the consistent quality and availability our customers expect, we have returned to the crop's roots and now source our Organic Raw Pumpkin Seeds directly from Austria, where generations of expertise and established processing facilities support this unique crop.

These dark green, hulless pumpkin seeds have a fresh, slightly nutty flavor and are prized for their versatility and nutrition. Though their journey now begins in Austria, they remain connected to a story that helped pioneer pumpkin seed production in Oregon and reflects Hummingbird's ongoing commitment to thoughtful sourcing and exceptional quality.

Pumpkin seeds contain vitamin E along with a host of additional antioxidants. They are a very good source of phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, and copper, and a good source of other minerals including zinc and iron. Pumpkin seeds are also a good source of protein.

Ideal ways to enjoy these Hulless Organic Pumpkin Seeds: add to sautéed vegetables; sprinkle on mixed green salads; grind pumpkin seeds with olive oil, herbs and lemon for a tasty salad dressing; add chopped pumpkin seeds to your favorite hot or cold cereal; add to oatmeal raisin cookies, granola, or other baked goods; sprinkle on yogurt; roast by baking in the oven at 300° F for 10 min, season to taste.
