Organic Oat Groats are whole oats with only the outer husk removed.
Oats have more protein and healthy fats, and less carbohydrates than most other whole grains. This grain is high in beta-glucans, which work to stimulate the immune system. Oats contain more soluble fiber than any other grain.
These groats may be cooked whole or ground into flour.
Ideal to soak in water or milk overnight to allow time to absorb liquid to make it the most yummy and digestible. If soaked, the oats can be eaten raw or cooked.
To cook without pre-soaking: Simmer 1 cup of Oat Groats in 3 cups of liquid for 2 hours. (Cooking in a double boiler can reduce the time to 30 min - 1 hr.)
