Established in 1868, Guittard is the oldest family-owned and operated chocolate company in the United States. Owner Gary Guittard blends the traditional techniques of his great-grandfather with his own passion for innovation and sustainable practices.

This couverture chocolate is Fair Trade and perfect for chocolatiers, bakers and snackers alike-with a high ratio of cocoa butter to cocoa solids. The cacao beans themselves are shade-grown by small scale growers, fermented and sun dried. Guittard works directly with these growers to select beans in small batches, sometimes traveling to Latin America to sample cacao with the growers themselves.

Guittard is a member of the World Cocoa Foundation, a non-profit organization providing sustainability training for cacao growers as well as literacy and leadership training for children of cacao-growing families.
