Hummingbird is very excited to offer shelf stable, Organic Ghee made in Portland, Oregon by Ahara Rasa. Ghee is ultra-clarified butter that is slowly cooked over open flame before carefully straining out the solids, leaving it 99.9% lactose and casein free. Mantra is chanted and played during the process to keep the ghee energetically pure.

This Organic Ghee is infused with organic garlic and whole lemon. It has a grainy texture when cold and turns into a golden clear liquid when warmed. Ghee is used like butter but also is a great substitute for many cooking oils due to its high heat point. This ghee is great with seafood, veggies and meats.

Organic Ghee has high levels of CLA's (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and is rich in the oil soluble vitamins A and E.

Ahara Rasa is 100% committed to real, organic and sustainable practices. They receive their vat-cultured butter from a creamery in California that grass feed and raise their cows on open pasture most of the year.

It is the end product of good digestion and the subtle energy derived from your food, rather than the mass itself. Ahara Rasa Ghee is committed to the traditional process of ghee outlined in the Charak Samhita ( the ancient text of Ayurvedic Medicine). This process specifies that ghee should be made from Makhan (cultured butter) where the cream is first turned to yogurt before being churned into butter. ARG also makes the ghee in small batches, over open flame rather than in large steam kettles like much of the other ghee on the market. Mantra is chanted and played during the entire process of ghee making to insure a saatvic (peaceful) and energetically healthy product.
