Awakened® Pumpkin Seeds are raw Organic pumpkin seeds that are soaked overnight in pure salt water, initiating germination, and helping reduce enzyme inhibitors (phytic acid) that make all nuts hard to digest.
Soaked pumpkin seeds are also referred to as sprouted, but since the tiny sprouts are unseen, we use the term Awakened®. After soaking, we dehydrate the seeds at low temperatures until they reach crunchy perfection.
Hummingbird has been working with Oregon farmers for many years to bring this unique crop to our area. These raw Organic Pumpkin Seeds grown in Oregon are dark green and have a fresh, slightly nutty flavor. This specialized hulless seed is the Styrian variety. Styria is located in Austria and is world-renowned for its excellent pumpkin seeds.
