Red Clover Sprouting Seed, LOCAL-- Farm Connections®
We're very excited to announce that we now have locally grown Red Clover Seed! These seeds, which are an excellent source of protein and iron, are grown on a 50 acre small family farm in Canby, Oregon.
Light in taste and color when sprouted, very similar to alfalfa sprouts, in fact! We hear that the main difference is how easily the Red Clover sheds its hulls.
Packed with protein and high in antioxidants, clover seeds are a nutritious addition to salads and sandwiches.
To sprout red clover seeds:
Soak seeds in jar of water for 8-12 hours; cover with cheese cloth and secure with rubber band.
Rinse the seeds 2-3 times per day for 5-6 days. Drain well after rinsing. (Try setting the jar on its side or tipped into a bowl.) Store away from direct sunlight.
Yield is around 7 to 1.
