Rice, Brown Basmati, Lundberg
Packed with whole grain goodness, Brown Basmati rice enjoys great popularity. It is an aromatic rice with the fragrance of Indian Basmati, but no elongation. An exotic choice when a fluffy, drier texture and an exotic aroma is desired, e.g., stir fry, salads, stuffing, pilaf, desserts.
-1 cup Lundberg® California Brown Basmati rice -2 cups water or broth -1 tbsp. butter (optional) -salt to taste
Rinse rice. Put all ingredients in a pot with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a boil, stir once, reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes. Do not remove lid. Remove from heat and allow to sit, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork. A rice cooker may be used with the same water-to-rice ratio. Yield: 3 cups
