Our Organic Dark Northern Rye Flour is made from rye grown on Hunton’s Farm in Junction City, Oregon and stone-ground at Camas Country Mill in Eugene.
Dark Northern Rye Flour makes a nutrient-dense addition to bread flours for pumpernickel and traditional rye loaves, and is remarkably versatile when included in other baked goods. For instance, this flour makes surprisingly sweet butter cookies and is a wonderful addition to lighter whole grain flours.
Rye contains beneficial phytonutrients and a high fiber and magnesium content.
